Both the Patriot League field hockey and women’s soccer tournaments kick off this weekend, and AU will be looking to take home titles in both. The champions of each tournament will earn a place in the NCAA Tournament.
The Eagles enter the conference tournament as the second seed and will square off against third-seeded Bucknell Nov. 2 in Easton, Pa., at 3:30 p.m.
After defeating the Bison 2-1 less than a week ago, AU will be looking to duplicate its success and reach the PL Championship game.
The first semifinal will be between top-seeded Lafayette and fourth-seeded Colgate and is scheduled to start at noon.
Ranked No. 12 in the country after posting a 15-1 regular-season record, Lafayette will be looking to repeat as conference champions.
The championship match is scheduled for Nov. 3 at 3 p.m., with all contests being played at Lafayette.
Just like in field hockey, the AU women’s soccer team will open tournament play against their last regular-season opponent.
The No. 3 Eagles clawed back to earn a 2-2 draw against Colgate and will now look to defeat the No. 2 Raiders in the PL Semifinals Nov. 2 in Annapolis, Md., at 3 p.m.
Following the AU-Colgate matchup will be the second semifinal between No. 1 Navy and No. 4 Lehigh at 7 p.m., and the Midshipmen enter the postseason as significant favorites.
Navy finished the regular season at 18-1-1 and went undefeated in conference play with a 6-0-1 record.
The championship match is set for Nov. 4 at 2 p.m., with Navy serving as the host of the tournament.
