Housing and Dining prepares for upcoming snow storm

By Ethan Klapper

Despite a potentially crippling snowstorm predicted for the Washington region in the next 24 to 48 hours, the head of Housing and Dining Programs predicts most on-campus dining facilities will operate on normal weekend schedules.

The exception could be Subway, located in the Eagle’s Nest, according to Chris Moody, the department’s executive director.

“Bon Appetit plans to operate regular weekend hours for the Terrace Dining Room, Tenley Cafe and the Eagles Nest,” Moody wrote in an e-mail. “Depending on the number of Bon Appetit staff who are able to get to campus during inclement weather, Subway may not be open this weekend.”

Other departments with which Housing and Dining is working to prepare for the storm include Facilities Management, Public Safety, the Office of Information Technology, the University Center and Jacobs Fitness Center, Moody wrote.

As much as 26 inches of snow is predicted for the area, according to The Washington Post’s Capital Weather Gang blog.
