Tornado watch for the D.C. area continues until 2 a.m.
A tornado warning was issued for the AU campus as well as other parts of D.C. on June 1.

There is also a flash flood warning for all of D.C., WTOP reports.
On its website, the University advised students to take cover immediately.
“We will continue to provide updates as they become available,” a memo on the AU website’s homepage read.
The online notice also told students to:
• Relocate to the lowest floor of the building, if time permits, and to stay away from windows. They should also take the fetal position and close any doors, if time permits.
• Attempt to enter a building as soon as possible, if outside. “If you cannot reach a building,” read the notice, “then you should lie flat in the nearest depression such as a ditch or ravine away from power lines, buildings and trees.”
• Leave your vehicle immediately if driving
As of 6 p.m. June 1, Public Safety reported no injuries or property damage.
