Christmas comes early for Australian meat thieves

Holiday thieves stole nearly 16 tons of ham last weekend from a meat factory in Sydney, Australia, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
"This is the first time I've seen our hams robbed in 20 years," Anthony Zammit, co-owner of the meat warehouse, told the Morning Herald.
The thieves apparently cut a hole in an exterior factory wall and extracted 16 pallets, each weighing approximately one ton.
A message left inside read, "Thanks. Merry Christmas."
The stolen goods included Christmas leg hams, banjo hams and oven-roasted turkey breast. The meats have a combined worth of between $80,000 and $100,000, Zammit told the Morning Herald.
Zammit expects the meat will be sold on the black market but maintains this may be more difficult than usual.
"It's not going to be easy - [our meats have] a great reputation and they're well-known," he said.
