Quick and easy Valentine’s Day treats in five steps or less

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, boyfriends and girlfriends all over campus are to rushing to find last minute gifts for bae. What better way to show love to your significant other than with homemade tasty treats? Whether you have a strict budget, can’t find a thoughtful present to buy or just don’t know what to get for Valentine’s Day, here’s a list of six quick and easy Valentine’s Day treats via Pinterest:

Strawberry Roses

What You’ll Need:

-Strawberries

-Lollipop sticks or store bought rose stems

-Small Knife

-Twist Ties


Step One:

Wash your strawberries and stick the lollipop sticks or store bought stems through the leafy end

Step Two:

Using the small knife, slice ¼’ small slits into the strawberry. To get the best shape, slice the strawberries in rows all the way around, creating small petals. Slice as many roses as desired, a bouquet of twelve roses is cute!

Step Three:

Tie the roses together with twist ties, and you’re done!

Tip: Melt a little bit of chocolate for a bit of fun and flavor!

Chocolate Strawberry Hearts

What You’ll Need:

-Strawberries

-Chocolate Chips

-Toothpicks

-Small knife


Step One:

Wash strawberries and cut off the leafy end

Step Two:

Slice the strawberry directly down the middle

Step Three:

Microwave chocolate chips for one minute. Insert a toothpick and dip the strawberries into the chocolate

Step Four:

Add sprinkles or edible glitter before the chocolate hardens for a cute touch

Step Five:

Refrigerate the chocolate covered strawberries until chocolate hardens. After 5-10 minutes, take out and serve!

Cupid Arrow Pretzels Sticks

What You’ll Need:

-Pretzel rods

-White chocolate chips

-Sprinkles or edible glitter

-Candy hearts

-Cardboard box

Step One:

Microwave chocolate chips for one minute and stir until smooth. While chocolate is melting, cut small holes into the cardboard box for the pretzel rods

Step Two:

Individually dip each pretzel rod halfway into white chocolate

Add sprinkles or edible glitter before chocolate hardens

Add candy hearts on at the front of the pretzel rod before chocolate hardens

Step Five:

Place rods into the cardboard box holes and refrigerate 5-10 minutes until chocolate hardens. Take out and serve!

Tip: Make a cute card for the Cupid Arrows with puns like “You struck me!”


Cookie Pops

What You’ll Need:

-Any kind of cookies (Oreos, Ritz crackers, etc.)

-White chocolate chips

-Sprinkles or edible glitter

-Lollipop sticks

-Cardboard box

Step One:

Microwave the white chocolate chips for one minute and stir until smooth

Step Two:

Individually dip each cookie into the chocolate

Step Three:

Place lollipop stick behind each cookie before chocolate hardens

Add Sprinkles or edible glitter before the chocolate hardens

Place on a flat surface and refrigerate 5-10 minutes until chocolate hardens. Serve and enjoy!

White Chocolate Popcorn

What You’ll Need:

-Popcorn

-White chocolate chips

-Candy hearts

-Sprinkles

-Cookie sheet or flat plate

Step One:

First microwave popcorn and then the chocolate. Stir chocolate until smooth

Step Two:

Place popcorn into a small bowl and gently drizzle melted chocolate over it. Mix thoroughly. Add to desired taste.

Step Three:

Add in candy hearts and sprinkles before the chocolate hardens

Spread popcorn over cookie sheet or flat plate and leave 5-10 minutes until chocolate hardens
