Former Treasurer Bay Buchanan to speak Oct. 7

Former U.S. Treasurer Bay Buchanan will speak to the AU community on Oct. 7, according to a release from the Kennedy Political Union.

Buchanan served as Treasurer during the administration of President Ronald Reagan, from 1981 to 1983. She is the sister of pundit Pat Buchanan and assisted him in multiple bids for the presidency.

Immediately after her term as treasurer, Buchanan became the chairwoman of the President’s Commission on Women Business Owners. She is now works at Virginia real estate firm McEnearney Associates, where she is a partner.

The event begins at 8:15 p.m. and is free and open to AU students and faculty on a first-come, first-served basis. Buchanan will speak in the Abramson Family Founders Room in the School of International service.

The release from KPU did not specify how many seats would be available.
